In order to improve the atmospheric environment, we use a remote sensing device in the metropolitan area and close inspection area to measure the emissions of vehicles and select vehicles that exceed the emission limit.
Inspection and management to exceed the permissible emission levels vehicles contributes to the reduction of air pollutants

Remote Sensing Device (RSD) for On-Road Vehicle Emission Gas

Summary
  • Measures gas emission of on-road vehicles using RSD in places under in-depth inspection such ad metropolitan areas and reports to local government of vehicle exceeding the permitted emission level for improvement. -> A measurement method introduced to improve air quality in urban areas by measuring the emission gas of vehicles driving without stopping a vehicle in order to relieve public inconvenience, such as causing traffic jams and the risk of traffic accidents caused by frequent inspections of forced stops.

Name Device Explanation
Source Detector Module (SDM) Source Detector Module (SDM) The SDM houses two internal modules: the source and the detector. The source emits a beam of infrared and ultraviolet (IR/UV) light. The detector detects vehicle emissions gases via the reflected IR/UV light beam. The SDM also houses a gas dispenser which allows the system to perform Calibration Verification Audits.
Corner Cube Mirror (CCM) Corner Cube Mirror (CCM) The CCM is a simple reflector of the IR/UV laser beams. The CCM returns the IR/UV beam back to the detector side of the SDM
Speed / Acceleration Module (SAM) Speed / Acceleration Module (SAM) Speed and acceleration of passing vehicles are gathered by the SAM and sent to the system control unit (SCU). Emitter/Detector Bar Two emitter/detectors are mounted to the Emitter/Detector Bar. Each Emitter/Detector contains a laser and a detector. The laser beam is broken by the tires of the vehicle and the detectors send the information for processing to the SCU.
Camera Camera The color camera captures a digital image of the vehicle. This image is intended to be used as visual vehicle identification. The image is captured as the emissions concentrations of the vehicle are calculated when the vehicle passes through the IR/UV beam of the SDM.
