The first step in Greenhouse gas reduction is to identify how much greenhouse gas are emitted"

K-eco calculate Greenhouse gas Emission in waste field. And emissions are calculated accurately. To reduce greenhouse gas emissions, first, we know how much greenhouse gas are emitted. Next, to calculate accurate emissions, the development of national unique emission coefficients is required. So, We conduct Quality Assurance, Quality Control.

Guidelines for making Statistics
  • IPCC (Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change)
  • K-eco apply the guidelines for the Greenhouse gas emissions calculation by IPCC guideline. Every year, GIR(Greenhouse gas Inventory and Research Center) provide greenhouse gas MRV guideline (Measurement, Reporting and Verification).
Major Tasks
  • K-eco calculate Greenhouse gas Emission in waste field (Landfill, Incineration, Wastewater, Biological treatment). To raise accurate emission, K-eco perform QA, QC(Quality Assurance, Quality Control)
  • Results(1990~2020) of national greenhouse gas emission calculation at 2022

The development of national unique emission coefficients in waste field

Background and grounds
  • After 2015 Paris accord, Each country strengthen reduction goal about MRV(Measurement, Reporting and Verification). Emission coefficient is very important. So, K-eco make emission cofficient through field measurement of emission facilities
Step 1 Target selection • Standard of Emission, Sample Selection • Meeting / Step 2 Collection of data, measurement, data analysis, QC performance / Step 3 review results • internal review external review QC performance / Step 4 Documentation • Develop of Emission factor, Verification Report / Step 5 Verification and Determination • GIR Management committee
